World Wide Professional Solutions (WWPS) is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join our growing team supporting a large-scale Bio Pharma construction project in Richmond, VA. The successful candidate will have extensive experience managing complex procurement, logistics, and supplier coordination for Bio Pharma or advanced manufacturing construction environments, including GMP facilities, cleanroom systems, process equipment, and critical utilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in end-to-end supply chain planning and execution within large capital construction projects, excellent vendor management and communication skills, and a strong understanding of regulated environments (FDA, cGMP, ISO, or equivalent). This is an onsite position in Richmond, VA. Candidates must be local, open to relocation with an approved package, or able to support the project onsite through a per-diem arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Planning & Coordination
  • Develop and maintain procurement strategies and long-lead equipment tracking logs specific to Bio Pharma systems (e.g., WFI, clean steam, autoclaves, filtration skids, process reactors, HVAC cleanroom equipment).
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, and OEM vendors to align procurement schedules with design and validation milestones.
  • Manage bid packages, RFP processes, and bid evaluations for mechanical, process, and cleanroom systems.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with client and regulatory quality standards.
  • Reconcile purchase orders, invoices, and materials receipt documentation.
  • Implement supplier performance metrics and scorecards to track on-time delivery, quality, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with global sourcing teams and trade partners to optimize cost, lead times, and quality.

Schedule Integration

  • Integrate procurement and equipment delivery schedules into the master construction plan.
  • Identify critical path materials and proactively mitigate delays through alternate sourcing or schedule adjustments.
  • Support forecasting and earned value tracking related to procurement and materials management.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as primary liaison between project teams, suppliers, and contractors for all procurement and logistics matters.
  • Facilitate technical and commercial reviews of vendor submittals and specifications.
  • Oversee manufacturing progress, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and vendor quality audits.
  • Ensure supplier qualification and documentation requirements are met (DQ/IQ/OQ documentation readiness, if applicable).
  • Logistics & Delivery Coordination
  • Oversee logistics for domestic and international shipments, import/export documentation, and customs clearance of Bio Pharma equipment.
  • Coordinate with site teams for delivery sequencing, site access, laydown areas, and rigging plans.
  • Manage material receiving and storage strategies that maintain cleanroom or contamination control standards.
  • Reporting & Risk Mitigation
  • Develop procurement reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and highlight potential risks.
  • Identify and escalate potential cost, schedule, or quality risks early, and support mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Collaborate with finance and project controls teams on cost forecasting, accruals, and budget updates.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred

Experience:

  • 5–10 years of field supervision experience in Bio Pharma, Life Sciences, or Cleanroom Construction.
  • 5-10 years of practical base build construction experience.
  • Proven success delivering cleanroom or advanced manufacturing projects to GMP and regulatory standards.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary trades, subcontractors, and vendors.

Certifications & Skills:

  • OSHA 30 required.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, cleanroom standards, and MEP/utility systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, construction scheduling tools, and BIM platforms (BIM360, Navisworks, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel and be present in the field throughout construction activities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Equivalent experience in construction procurement and logistics management will be considered.
