Goodstart – Where Wellbeing and Purpose Align
At Goodstart, everything we do begins with our purpose – to ensure children have the best possible start in life. With nearly 700 centres and 16,500 Goodstarters across Australia, our success depends on the health, safety, and wellbeing of our people.
We’re looking for a Psychosocial Risk & Safety Project Specialist to lead the design and implementation of national initiatives that strengthen psychological safety, mitigate complex work health risks, and build wellbeing capability across our teams.
Your Impact:
In this critical role, you’ll blend strategic insight, technical expertise, and compassionate leadership to create safer, healthier workplaces where people can thrive. You will:
- Lead psychosocial and critical risk assessments using ISO standards, WHS Codes of Practice, and data-driven insights to deliver sustainable safety solutions.
- Design and implement targeted interventions – from prevention strategies and workload redesign to resilience and support programs – ensuring real-world impact.
- Engage and influence leaders and teams to embed a culture of shared ownership in psychosocial risk management and wellbeing.
- Build capability through evidence-based training, tools, and resources that enhance safety literacy across our workforce.
- Monitor and report on trends, metrics, and outcomes to drive continuous improvement and inform strategic decision-making.
Your work will directly support Goodstart’s vision of a mentally healthy and psychologically safe organisation – one where every Goodstarter feels supported, valued, and able to deliver their best for children and families.
What Goodstart Can Offer You:
- Flexible work arrangements giving you choice about when and how work will be done in order to better manage your work and non-work needs
- Salary Packaging benefits which reduce your taxable income to increase take home pay
- Access to discounted childcare (up to 15%)
- Fitness Passport - access to gyms and pools for you and your family at a heavily discounted price
- Discounted health care and access to employee wellbeing program with BUPA
- Exclusive discounts on travel, gym memberships, Apple and Dell products, and more.
- Free annual flu shot (optional)
- Option to purchase extra leave for even greater work life balance
- First Nations Support and Cultural Leave
- Work for a company that has an aspiration to be globally recognised for early years practice and learning outcomes
- Gain significant investment in your growth and development with support, tools, training and experiences that will truly enhance the progress and outcomes for children in their earliest years.
You’Ll Bring To The Table:
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of psychosocial hazards, critical risk management, ISO Standards, international risk frameworks, WHS regulations, and emerging best practices in workplace risk management.
- Technical Skills: Degree qualified Psychologist – preferrable for Organisational Psychology. Expertise in risk assessment tools, data analysis, program evaluation, and project management.
- Professional Skills: Leadership, facilitation, consultation, and training-through-influence – mobilising organisational change while maintaining credibility.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, empathy, adaptability, and a proactive mindset oriented toward resilience and well-being.
- Current QLD Working with Children Check.
