Sr. Manager, Maintenance and Engineering

Could be based at any of these plants: Brewster, Bristol, Perham, Phoenix or Waterford

The Senior Manager of Engineering & Maintenance is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing engineering, maintenance, and reliability functions across multiple salty snack manufacturing sites. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, drives continuous improvement, and supports capital project execution to meet production goals, safety standards, and cost targets.

Your seat at the table

  • Lead engineering and maintenance teams across multiple facilities, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and operational excellence.
  • Implement standardized maintenance programs, predictive maintenance strategies, maintenance stores control, Autonomous Maintenance, and reliability-centered initiatives.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to prioritize and execute capital projects, equipment upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Drive up-time, equipment reliability, and overall asset effectiveness through data-driven decision-making.
  • Drive Maintenance KPI’s (PM Compliance, % Scheduled Maintenance, Inventory Accuracy) to support the improvement of unplanned downtime in the facilities
  • Drive energy efficiency in plants
  • Assure compliance to our Asset Control Tower Standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across all sites.
  • Build and mentor high-performing engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion training programs to enhance technical skills and leadership capabilities.
  • Lead planning and execution of capital projects, including scope development, vendor selection, and project management.
  • Manage multi-site maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and ROI.
  • Partner with procurement and finance teams to optimize spend and vendor relationships.

Role Contribution Level

This position is a non-supervisory role.

What you bring to the table 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in engineering and maintenance within food manufacturing or CPG, with at least 5 years in a multi-site leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of CMMS systems, reliability engineering, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proven track record of leading capital projects and driving operational improvements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in salty snack or high-speed packaging environments.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (FDA, OSHA, SQF, etc.).
  • Six Sigma or Lean certification.
  • Ability to travel between sites as needed.
