What do we Need
We are seeking a VP, Global Sales | Protein Metrics, to support  our  rapid expansion in enterprise deployments across major and mid-size accounts. As the VP Sales | Protein Metrics, you will execute on top line growth worldwide, managing a team of sales account managers and channel partners. This position reports to the President of Protein Metrics. Protein Metrics, a Dotmatics Brand, is  now commercially deployed in over 150 biopharmaceutical accounts and over 300 institutions. Protein Metrics products are leaders in scientific software for the discovery and development of biotherapeutics with both desktop and enterprise cloud-based deployments. 

As VP of Global Sales, you will be accountable for driving sustainable revenue growth and shaping the long-term commercial success of the brand. 

In this role you will get to: 

  • Own and deliver annual global bookings targets across products and services.
  • Lead, structure, and scale the global Sales organization, including channel/distribution strategy, talent acquisition and development, and operational excellence.
  • Build, inspire, and develop a high-performing international sales team with a culture of accountability and success.
  • Oversee and expand strategic customer relationships, while managing and growing the global sales pipeline.
  • Direct and manage distributor and channel partner relationships to maximize reach and performance.
  • Establish and Influence best-in-class practices for forecasting, quoting, and sales process management from lead generation through fulfillment.
  • Partner with Customer Success and Services leadership to ensure a seamless pre-sales and post-sales customer experience.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to align inbound lead generation with outbound sales enablement strategies.
  • Identify and develop new revenue-generating services and partnerships to complement software licenses and accelerate recurring revenue growth.
  • Contribute as a key member of the Leadership Team to shape mid- and long-term company strategy and growth initiatives.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with Marketing and Engineering to ensure market needs, products, and services are tightly integrated.
  • Coach, mentor, and elevate sales talent at all levels, from individual contributors to senior leaders.

We are looking for people who have significant sales experience with at least 10+ years successful experience in leading sales teams focused on scientific tools and/ or software and at least  5+ years in a senior leadership position (VP or Sr Director equivalent).  Ideally you will have a degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Protein Science, Biology, Chemical Engineering or similar Life Sciences education.

  • Strategic Account Management: Build trust and long-term partnerships by understanding your clients’ needs and ensuring our solutions align with their scientific and operational goals. 
  • Driving Process & Execution: Follow a best-in-class enterprise sales framework to create a repeatable, scalable success model, lead and coach a team in best practice to ensure efficiency and effectiveness - helping them seize every opportunity. 
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, customer success, external partners to deliver a seamless customer experience and drive sustained growth.
  • ABC, Always Be Curious: Stay on top of industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies. You’re curious, ambitious, and always looking to level up your sales game.
  • Sales Performance & Organizational Growth: Demonstrated record of delivering individual and team success—consistently meeting and exceeding revenue targets, expanding key accounts, building world-class sales teams, and scaling the organization through structured leadership and disciplined forecasting.
  • Executive Presence: Strong ability to engage and align with executive leadership internally and externally, translating strategy into execution and building trusted relationships at the C-suite level.
  • Communication & Presentation: Advanced communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to represent the company to clients, partners, and at public events; able to convey complex value propositions with clarity and impact.
  • Program & Project Management: Strong project and program management capabilities, ensuring alignment across functions and flawless execution of go-to-market initiatives.
  • Sales Methodology Discipline: Metric-based leadership grounded in data-driven decision making, consistent pipeline health reviews, and disciplined use of sales methodologies to improve predictability and performance.
  • Research & Value Proposition Development: Ability to research market dynamics, synthesise insights, and articulate compelling value propositions that differentiate and win in competitive enterprise environments.

Dotmatics utilises a national market-based approach to base pay benchmarking and pay band development. The candidate's final starting pay is based on job-related skills, experience, job specific qualifications & location. In addition to base salary, Dotmatics has implemented a total rewards strategy, which is the combination of compensation, benefits and recognition.

This is the range that we, in good faith, believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

Starting Base Pay Range $178,500$190,000 USD
