Mō te tūranga | About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Project Manager (immediate start) with a strong commercial and technology background to manage a Services Transition/Disengagement stream of our core infrastructure operating model programme on a contract basis until September 2026.
Assignment Specific Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage the transition and disengagement of services to new providers.
- Plan and manage the interaction across existing providers, new providers and Westpac delivery teams.
- Plan and manage the onboarding of new vendors teams, the requirements to support the successful transition to new service/support providers and the required monitoring of technology assets being taken over by Westpac.
- Ensure compliance with policies and standards for service continuity and monitoring.
- Interaction with technology asset management and related functions to maintain accurate records.

- Serve as a key member of the programme team, driving the delivery of transition and disengagement outcomes.
- Collaborate with PM peers to align around key dependencies.
- Ensure transparency by making progress evident in alignment with a visible and agreed plan.
- Maintain objectivity in reporting with a strong data-driven approach.
- Navigate high maturity enterprise environments and manage complexity effectively.
- Quickly master processes to ensure compliance, including Change and Release Management, Data Privacy, and Outsourcing Governance.
- Produce mandatory delivery lifecycle artefacts.
- Actively seek stakeholder validation and challenge to build engagement around an agreed plan.
- Facilitate and coordinate complex changes, influencing peers to drive change.
- Utilise primary tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, and Confluence.

- Proven experience in technology project management specifically with a strong commercial background to manage a Transition and Disengagement stream within our core infrastructure operating model programme.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into actionable delivery plans, especially in regulated or complex environments.
- Expertise in managing complex projects in high maturity enterprise environments.
- Proven ability to plan, execute, and deliver complex projects within tight timeframes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Jira, and Confluence.
- Strong data-driven approach and excellent reporting skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to and master compliance processes.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
