The Position

The Management Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the financial sustainability and strategic decision-making of the community housing provider. This position is responsible for delivering accurate financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to ensure the organisation meets its financial and social objectives. The role contributes to the effective management of resources and supports the Head of Finance in driving financial performance and accountability across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting - Prepare monthly management reports including financial analysis, commentary and reconciliations
  • Payroll - Support the processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
  • Budgets - Lead the development of annual budgets in collaboration with operational teams.
  • Audit - Manage the internal and external audits
  • Insurance - Coordinate and manage insurance claims related to property, liability, and other areas
  • Property Valuations – Lead the property valuation process in collaboration with financiers, valuers and internal teams

As our ideal candidate you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting and attained or pursuing CPA/CA (or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience in a similar role and proven ability to support financial operations in a similar sized organisation ideally within the housing sector
  • Knowledge of Payroll regulations
  • Understanding of relevant AASB standards.
  • Extensive experience and high-level skill in MS Excel
  • Experience and high-level skill with computer software such as Business Central, Payroll Easy, Employment Hero, Zavanti and Office applications
  • Extensive experience in preparing and interpreting budgets and liaise with internal and external stakeholder.
  • Desire to be part of a values driven and community focussed organisation
