Requirements
We are seeking a skilled Fabric Data
Engineer to join our growing Data & Analytics team in Calgary. This
hybrid role requires the candidate to be in the office 3 days a week,
collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and
optimize data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Azure
Data Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Data Factory, Synapse).
- Integrate data from multiple sources into centralized models that support business analytics and reporting.
- Develop and maintain Lakehouses, Notebooks, and Dataflows in Fabric.
- Collaborate with business users to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Optimize data models for Power BI reporting and dashboarding.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards are implemented and followed.
- Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues in the data pipeline and transformation processes.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 1 year of experience using Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, SQL, and Lakehouse architecture.
- Experience in developing and maintaining data pipelines, notebooks (PySpark, T-SQL), and dataflows.
- Proficiency in data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills..
