Postdoctoral Fellow III, Internal Medicine-Endocrinology

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D., M.D. or Doctoral equivalent in any field and three (3) years of completed Postdoctoral Fellow research experience.

Job Description:

The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position, and is not expected to be a permanent position.

Job Duties:

• Plan and perform experiments independently 
• Prepare lab reports  
• Writes protocol 
• Interacts with graduate students 
• Capable of presenting data at meetings  
• Performs related duties as assigned 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to plan and perform experiments independently 
• Ability to observe and record experiments/research and report accurately 
• Writing skills for protocols, reports, journal manuscripts and funding applications 
• Able to plan and perform experiments in an independent manner with minimal supervision 
• Able to write papers, protocols, and lab reports associated with project  
• Mentoring and teaching skills for interaction with graduate students 
• Presentation Skills 

Budget Responsibility:

• In some cases, planning and overseeing laboratory research budget. 
• Decision -Making Responsibility:  
• Responsible for decisions regarding research 

Equipment:

• Standard office equipment and specialized tools related to research. 

Working Environment/Location Of Position:

• Standard office and laboratory environment at UTMB’s main campus or other locations.  
• Salary Range:
• Commensurate with experience
