Position Description:
Designs and develops RESTful APIs and services for server-side applications using Spring Boot. Designs and develops reusable client-side components using Angular 17 and JavaScript frameworks. Develops applications and system components in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. Builds and deploys applications in a DevOps environment using Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and practices. Builds applications using AWS EC2, ECS, Lambda, EMR, and Cloud Formation. Develops container-based systems by implementing and maintaining orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, and ECS). Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
- Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
- Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
- Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
- Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
- Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
- Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education And Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing software for large customer-facing and internal end-user Web applications using Spring Boot, Angular, and AWS cloud technologies.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing software for large customer-facing and internal end-user Web applications using Spring Boot, Angular, and AWS cloud technologies.
Skills And Knowledge:
Candidate Must Also Possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging complex software applications using modern languages and frameworks (Java, Spring Boot, and Angular).
- DE designing and developing efficient and scalable cloud-native applications written on AWS platforms, using Amazon Cloud Development Kit (CDK) and Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3).
- DE building and deploying REST Web services in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment using Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
- DE triaging bugs on software applications using Datadog and Splunk; and developing applications by writing or contributing to technical specification documentation.
