Position Description:

Designs and develops RESTful APIs and services for server-side applications using Spring Boot. Designs and develops reusable client-side components using Angular 17 and JavaScript frameworks. Develops applications and system components in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. Builds and deploys applications in a DevOps environment using Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and practices. Builds applications using AWS EC2, ECS, Lambda, EMR, and Cloud Formation. Develops container-based systems by implementing and maintaining orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, and ECS). Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.  
• Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.  
• Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.  
• Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. 
• Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. 
• Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.  
• Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. 
• Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. 
• Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. 
• Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. 

Education And Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing software for large customer-facing and internal end-user Web applications using Spring Boot, Angular, and AWS cloud technologies.   

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing software for large customer-facing and internal end-user Web applications using Spring Boot, Angular, and AWS cloud technologies.

Candidate Must Also Possess:

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging complex software applications using modern languages and frameworks (Java, Spring Boot, and Angular). 
• DE designing and developing efficient and scalable cloud-native applications written on AWS platforms, using Amazon Cloud Development Kit (CDK) and Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3). 
• DE building and deploying REST Web services in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment using Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins. 
• DE triaging bugs on software applications using Datadog and Splunk; and developing applications by writing or contributing to technical specification documentation.
