Position Description:

Delivers software using agile development practices and Object-Oriented Development (OOD) to support products. Produces high-quality, testable, and reliably deployed code for sophisticated products and components, using Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, SQL, and PL/SQL. Prepares reports and correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, and status. Coordinates software system installation and monitors its functioning to ensure specifications are met. Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts. 
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms. 
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives. 
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. 
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. 
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives. 
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. 
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. 
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. 
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. 

Education And Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) building and optimizing full stack applications within trading and financial platforms, using Java and Angular frameworks. 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) building and optimizing full stack applications within trading and financial platforms, using Java and Angular frameworks. 

Skills And Knowledge:

Candidate Must Also Possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) optimizing services for real-time trading operations using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud-based services; building scalable Web applications using REST, WebSocket, and RxJS; and conducting data integration across microservices using Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ. 
  • DE handling transactions on applications with relational databases (Oracle and PostgreSQL), applied stored procedures, and function and triggers on database logics and audit logs; and developing test automation scripts for Behavior Driven Development (BDD) of applications, using JUnit, Jest, Cucumber, and Cypress. 
  • DE building automation tools (Maven and Gradle) for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, using Jenkins; performing application build and deployment for Spring Boot and Angular applications, using dockerized containerization for scalable deployment of microservices; and logging and monitoring application issues using Datadog.  
  • DE handling market data conditions, risk management, real-time exposure, high-level order and margin calculations, order compliance, and rules-based monitoring throughout the order life cycle (from placement to execution), using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and AWS.
