Storage is a key component of Chrome that must be reliable and highly performant. There are many different storage APIs in Chrome, our team maintains these existing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and seeks to improve or augment them as needs arising in the web platform. Our team also takes on high priority, high impact performance work unrelated to storage when opportunities and needs arise.
