Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Experience in Machine Learning (ML) research and Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms.
- Experience with research publications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) or Computer Vision (CV), specifically with LLMs, transformer architectures, information retrieval, or knowledge grounding.
- Experience designing and implementing large-scale machine learning systems in a production environment.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX, and Python or C++.
- Experience with publications in AI/ML conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, CVPR, etc.
- Excellent software engineering skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Conduct research on Large Language Models (LLMs) with a focus on improving factuality, including knowledge retrieval, grounding, and reasoning.
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate the performance of LLMs on various factuality benchmarks and real-world tasks, analyze results, and develop novel techniques to enhance LLM factuality.
- Design and implement prototype systems that incorporate research findings, directly contributing to the advancement of Google products powered by Gemini.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into Google products and initiate engagements with product teams to understand their needs and identify opportunities to apply research to improve user experience.
- Contribute to the research community by publishing findings in top academic conferences and journals.
