- Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000
Location: Hybrid, DC – Hybrid work arrangement with required onsite presence during core federal hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM ET) and additional onsite coverage as mission dictates.

About The Role:
The Systems Administrator supports the management, governance, and optimization of agency-wide systems, tools, and integrations. This role ensures the stability, security, and efficient use of the Agency’s enterprise systems by overseeing licensing, user administration, communication, and system governance. The Systems Administrator serves as a system owner, managing integrations, supporting updates, and maintaining alignment with the Agency’s IT security and governance policies.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical administration experience with the ability to analyze utilization data, communicate system developments, and support continuous improvement of system performance and user experience.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Administer and track user licenses; automate portions of the license management process.
- Govern system usage in compliance with the Agency and HHS IT and security policies.
- Maintain user communications—announcing new features, planned downtimes, and updates.
- Manage the system ticket queue and ensure timely resolution of user requests.
- Support system integrations, updates, and security authorizations in coordination with IT teams.
- Perform data analysis to track license utilization, system performance, and usage trends.
- Maintain system documentation, configurations, and audit logs.
- Collaborate with the Agency’s Tech leadership to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
Required Professional Skills:
- Familiarity with HHS-wide IT governance policies.
- Experience automating administrative processes (e.g., using scripts or workflow tools).
- Demonstrated experience with license and access management tools.
- Strong understanding of system governance, configuration management, and IT security principles.
- Experience supporting system integrations, updates, and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills with an ability to translate technical information into clear user guidance.
Preferred Professional Skills:
- Experience with GitHub Enterprise and workflow automation preferred.

Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of system administration or IT operations experience.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or equivalent.
