• Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:00pm
• Working Weeks: Term Time Only – 36 Weeks (With Holiday Pay: 40.328 Weeks)
• Salary: £12.21 per hour / £17,234.18 annually (based on 35 working weeks)

About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Catering Assistant to join our team at WQE College. This is a term-time only position, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and beverages to customers
• Assist with food preparation including sandwiches and cold items
• Carry out general front-of-house duties such as clearing tables, table service, and customer interaction
• Operate tills and handle payments
• Restock items and manage stock rotation
• Maintain cleanliness in both front and back of house areas (sweeping, mopping, general housekeeping)
• Work flexibly across different tasks with full training and support provided

Skills & Requirements

• Must be aged 18 or over
• Previous experience interacting with inmates is advantageous
• Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and/or team members in a correctional work environment
• Must be able to obtain a food safety certification
• Capable of working independently with limited supervision
• Good judgment and tact
• Ability to follow safety procedures and policies
• Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance
• Physically able to meet demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing
• Uniforms and PPE may be required
