Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement automated systems to improve manufacturing processes.
- Identify, design, and implement projects around Industry 4.0 methodology.
- Program and integrate software solutions for production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation and control system issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation across operations.
- Perform routine maintenance, testing, and upgrades on automated systems.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards.
- Analyze production data to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Develop training materials and train staff on automation equipment operation.
- Document automation processes, systems, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance.
- Partner with vendors to evaluate and implement new technologies.
Qualifications/Education/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent education and experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in automation, controls, or related fields; certifications a plus.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of robotics, electro-mechanical systems, and industrial automation.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, VFDs, SCADA, and IT network protocols. Proficiency with Rockwell Automation programming software.
- Experience with Ignition, Python, or similar software preferred.
- Skilled in CAD software for automation schematics. AutoCad, AutoCad Electrical, and Solid Works are our standard design software.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
Physical Requirements
Tolerance for sitting and/or standing for long periods of time. Possess finger dexterity to write, type, and use a calculator. Maintain adequate vision to view small print and computer terminal. Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with occasional light lifting (25 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required. Ability to travel between multiple facilities as required to perform core job duties.
