Opportunity:

Local, family-owned construction company with over 125 years of history is currently seeking a hands-on Controller to manage all financial operations at their Wooster, OH location. The successful candidate will be involved in the day-to-day financial responsibilities and provide leadership and strategic financial guidance for the company. Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly close process including financial statements, journal entries and resolving any issues.
• Oversee accounts payable and payroll processing.
• Complete accounts receivable and preparation of AIA & T&M billing.
• Maintain and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. 
• Monthly sales/use tax reporting.
• Oversee daily cash management and cash flow reporting.
• Review and prepare management reports and key performance indicators as requested. 
• Prepare year end schedules, reports and documentation related to the financial review.
• Monitor contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders and project orders.
• Preparation of union reports, prevailing wage reports (if any), etc.
• Implement and enforce financial controls.
• Responsible for all external audits, including insurance, union & other 3rd party.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

Requirements:

• 5-7 years construction accounting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Foundation Software a definite plus (or equivalent software knowledge).
• Must be able to focus on details, prioritize, meet deadlines and assume initiative.
• Previous experience with job costing & revenue recognition.
• Ability to communicate effectively with owners, co-workers and external business associates.
• Must be a hands on type individual.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
