About Us
STARK is a new kind of defence technology company revolutionising the way autonomous systems are deployed across multiple domains. We design, develop and manufacture high performance unmanned systems that are software-defined, mass-scalable, and cost effective. This provides our operators with a decisive edge in highly contested environments.
We’re focused on delivering deployable, high-performance systems—not future promises. In a time of rising threats, STARK is bolstering the technological edge of NATO Allies and their Partners to deter aggression and defend Europe—today.
Your Mission
As an IT Systems Administrator/Systems Engineer, you will own and build our IT operations in the UK, supporting both office and production environments. This is a hands-on, multi domain role that covers infrastructure, network, endpoints, identity management, IT support, and security compliance.
As the UK based point of contact for IT, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable. You’ll collaborate closely with Corporate IT, the CISO, and local teams to ensure smooth operations while helping the business grow.
This role is ideal for a pragmatic generalist who understands how all components interact, can solve complex problems, and thrives in a fast-moving, high-security environment.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of UK IT operations: servers, network, endpoints, IAM, and SaaS tools.
- Build, operate, and maintain secure IT infrastructure for office and production sites.
- Implement compliance controls per MOD, ISO 27001, and UK CyberSec requirements.
- Provide hands-on support for technical issues, both reactive and proactive.
- Collaborate with Corporate IT and the CISO on global initiatives, security policies, and process standardisation.
- Establish processes, documentation, and workflows for onboarding, device management, and service delivery.
- Automate recurring operational tasks wherever possible.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve reliability, efficiency, and security.
- Identify dependencies and potential single points of failure, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Maintain visibility over the entire UK IT environment, while being ready to dive in and resolve critical issues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sysadmin / Systems Engineer covering multiple IT domains: networking, servers, endpoints, IAM, support, and SaaS tooling.
- Hands-on experience with Okta (or similar), Google Workspace, endpoint management systems, and server environments.
- Experience in regulated or high-security environments is a strong advantage.
- Ability to work independently and make operational/architectural decisions.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritisation, and troubleshooting skills.
- Comfortable documenting systems, processes, and workflows to support scaling and knowledge transfer.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with global teams in a fast-paced start-up.
- Flexible and adaptable to evolving requirements and urgent operational needs.
- Willingness to travel as needed between sites.
- Must be eligible for SC or DV Clearance (or already hold)
