Senior Data Governance Analyst

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Data Governance Analyst to join our growing Technology team on a permanent basis. This role is offered with hybrid working from our Embassy Gardens office in London.

Reporting into the Head of Data Governance, you’ll be responsible for executing and embedding company-wide data governance processes, policies and data standards. To achieve this, you’ll collaborate with the wider Data teams (Data Owners, Lead Data Stewards and Data Stewards) and will provide expertise in influencing colleagues, problem solving and analysis and solutions design to support us in reaching our goals.

We’re looking for someone with a strong foundation in data governance to come on board in this role. You’ll be proactive and engaged with emerging trends, new strategies and technologies that will support our ambitious future plans. Able to work on your own initiative to deliver against a variety of key projects, your work will directly impact our company culture and will support our continuous improvement efforts.

The Role

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and execute Data Governance policies aligned to the business strategy.   
• Engage and coordinate with Data Owners, Lead Data Stewards and Data Stewards to identify and resolve complex data quality issues. 
• Implement Agile Data Governance methodology and processes, and advise on Metadata Management standards. 
• Design and analyse large datasets to improve data quality targets. 
• Understand and evaluate the data management impacts of new technologies and digital services, analysing requirements and advising on scope and options for continuous improvement. 
• Advise on best practice designs for data governance. 
• Assess and evaluate risk associated to the data projects in flight.  
• Make proposals for the implementation of new data Governance processes, applying your own knowledge and experience to encourage learning and growth. 
• Demonstrate a good understanding of relevant privacy, security and ethical concerns relating to data and AI.  
• Own the Business Stewardship of the Business Glossary.  
• Responsible for chairing meetings with technical teams such as Data Architects, Engineers, and analysts.  
• Evaluate metrics to ensure progress against Data Governance KPIs, and establish key milestones. 
• Influence organisation, customers, suppliers, partners, and peers on the Data Governance Policy, acting as the authoritative expert. 
• Support and influence the allocation and management of Junior Team members to given Data Governance assignments.   
• Lead on and build the Data Stewards network/community and ensures Data Stewards needs are met consistently through each work stage.   
• Build appropriate and effective business relationships across the organisation and with customers, suppliers and partners.   
• Create and support collaborative ways of working across group/area of responsibility, facilitating collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives.  

What You’Ll Bring

Essential Criteria:

• Previous experience in a data governance role. 
• Experience of implementing and using data governance tools such as Data.World, Alation, Collibra etc. 
• Experience of Data Quality Issue Management. 

• Experience Of Sql.

• Knowledge of Data Governance tools and applications such as Data Catalogues, Data Lineage and Data Quality.  
• Knowledge of Snowflake and data modelling. 
• Ability to demonstrate impactful communication (oral, written and presentations), articulating complex information to broad audiences.

Desirable Criteria:

• Familiarity with DAMA DMBok2.

Salary

The salary for this opportunity is up to £61,800, depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus a generous bonus scheme and benefits. 

Hybrid Working

While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will work from the Embassy Gardens office in London 2 days per week (typically Tuesday & Wednesday or Thursday).
