We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Pets 1st in Egham, Surrey. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, proactive, adaptable and will thrive in a busy hospital environment.
This role is ideal for a clinician ready to take on more responsibility, support junior members of the team, and continue developing their own skills in a well-established practice. We have a longstanding team with a wealth of knowledge who put pet care at the heart of everything we do, with 4.5 vets, 9 nurses and a full reception team.
Our nurses are highly experienced with multiple certificates between them; they are a huge support to the veterinary team. You will have clinical freedom with a varied caseload, and opportunities to specialise - whether that’s studying for a certificate, offering specialist services, or advancing your surgical expertise.
Our vets work a 4-day working week, consisting of an 8-hour, 9-hour and two 10.5 hour shifts. Saturdays (8am-2pm) are equally shared. This equates to a 40-hour working week. No OOH, bank holidays or Sundays.

Led by Clinical Director Andy and Deputy Clinical Director David - with over 20 years’ combined experience - our team of 4 vets is supported by 6 RVN's and 2 SVN's and a clinical coach.
Each day begins with a structured ward round to review cases and plan the day, ensuring consistent, high-quality care for every patient.
