Application Architect – AWS Cloud Migration

Role Overview:

Application Architect-AWS Cloud Migration:  Design, plan and implement DevOps and DevSecOps Solutions by implementing process and tools for client. Lead as a DevOps enabler, specializing in Agile, Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), Infrastructure Provisioning, and Monitoring. Collaborate closely with developers, Testers, security and other stake holders to automate infrastructure and DevSecOps to deliver solutions. Fostering a culture of collaboration self-sufficiency through training, comprehensive documentation. Gather and document user requirements, developing both logical and physical specifications for implementation. Implement monitoring solutions to assess threats and evaluate application performance effectively. Support test service virtualization for Bell Canada's digital services, creating and maintaining API mocks and stubs that enable continuous development and testing across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain API stubs and mocks using IBM Rational Integration Tester (RIT)
• Create virtual services for REST, SOAP, and message-based protocols
• Support development teams with test data configuration and response simulation
• Migrate legacy services to Node.js-based service virtualization platform
• Troubleshoot and debug service virtualization issues during testing cycles
• Collaborate with development teams to understand API specifications
• Document user requirements
• Design and implement monitoring solutions for both threat assessment and performance metrics

Technical Skills:

• Strong experience with API testing and service virtualization concepts
• Proficiency in JavaScript for scripting complex stub behaviors
• Experience with Node.js for modern service virtualization implementations
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, Swagger/OpenAPI, Fiddler)
• Understanding of RESTful and SOAP web services
• JSON/XML data manipulation and transformation
• PowerShell expertise and Unix/Linux command line proficiency
• Version control systems (Git, SVN)
• Experience with IBM Rational Integration Tester (RIT) or similar service virtualization tools (WireMock, Parasoft)

Qualifications:

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Scripting languages (JavaScript, Bash)
• Experience with Agile development methodologies

Work Environment:

• On-call rotation for production support
• Collaboration with distributed teams across multiple time zones
