THE JOB:
The Veterinarian Technician is primarily responsible for assisting the Ohio State Racing Commission Veterinarian with testing and post-race care of the horses at Northfield Park. Bring your strong work ethic, dedication and commitment to the racing industry to Northfield Park!

The Starting Rate: $16.46the Day-To-Day:

• Assist veterinarians with testing, biological sample evaluation, procedures, treatments, and postmortem studies, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Manage the processing, testing, and packaging of blood samples, preparing supplies for veterinary procedures.
• Procure and maintain laboratory and veterinary equipment and supplies.
• Cleaning your designed stalls/barns
• Communicate regularly with the Veterinarian and Animal Care Department Director.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Possesses previous experience working with horses and is comfortable handling them
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Has experience with Microsoft Office
• Must have a strong work ethic, dedication to Northfield Park and a commitment to the racing industry
• Has the ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in an often-challenging environment where multiple tasks and events may occur simultaneously
• Must be able to obtain an Ohio State Racing Commission license
