INSEAD is seeking an ETL Project Manager (Talend) to join our Digital department. This is a full-time, short term (6 months) contract position based at our Asia Campus in Singapore. A hybrid working model is in place – 3 days on campus, 2 days from home.
The Digital department at INSEAD supports the school's global operations by delivering cutting-edge technological solutions that enhance teaching, research, and administrative functions. It ensures seamless integration of digital tools and infrastructure across all campuses, fostering innovation and operational efficiency.
About the job
The position holder is responsible for planning and organizing all aspects of work activities for projects under his/her governance; ensuring that the objectives are reached on time, within budget and according to project specification and adhering to the Digital department project management frameworks, processes and standards.
The Project manager is responsible for gathering clear business requirements, while working closely with the business analyst team. He/She guarantees the success of the planning phase, oversees deployments and provides support post deployment.
As part of her/his assignments, she/he will be accountable for maintaining effective communication, proper execution of plan, and regular reporting to her/his steering committee, stakeholders and direct manager.
This role combines technical expertise and an understanding of INSEAD’s business processes to define, monitor and drive development and adoption of applications that are part of the Digital Roadmap as defined by the Executive Committee. The aim is to create user-centric digital websites in terms of usability, functionality, and innovation which generate enthusiastic user adoption and engagement within and outside of INSEAD.
Your role within the team
- Project delivery: Manages the entire project lifecycle from assessing the business problem, through definition, detailed planning, implementation and delivery while balancing the 3 dimensions of a project which are scope/quality, cost/resources and schedule/timeline.
- Proposal & Planning: proposes one or several well-documented, if applicable, financially established solutions clearly outlining the pros and cons of each in use cases. Compiles status reports on the various projects.
- Communication: facilitates seamless communication key stakeholders along the progress of the project and ensure they can make well-informed decisions. Organizes and structures the project with clear milestones, meetings, workshops, collaboration tools and appropriate communication channels and processes. Security and data: ensures to always follow and enforces the INSEAD security policies and practices through the project he/she manages. Each project should also be considering of the data usage.
- Relationship management: cultivates strong, collaborative relationships between external and internal stakeholders, including Digital departments, across diverse cultures and INSEAD campuses; fostering trust, cooperation among all contributors and facilitate a healthy conversation.
- Stakeholder engagement: Acts as a reliable key contact, share knowledge, gives regular updates, provides guidance and be able to recommend solutions across multiple projects and business areas.
- Standards/Innovation: respects all relevant INSEAD’s standards (development, CI …) in his/her activities, under special application of all state of the art technical and ergonomic design standards. He/she also commits to perform all other tasks delegated by the manager to optimize efficiency of the entire Digital Department according INSEAD’s management requirements. Able to propose new creative approach based on the INSEAD strategy.
The ideal candidate profile
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Information Systems/Computer Science or equivalent.
- Certificate: PMP or ScrumMaster.
- More than 5 years of Project Management,
- Exposure working in Data Engineering environment – data integration, ETL, data modeling
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Tools: Jira and Talend Open Studio for Data Integration
