The Game Developer Services (GDS) team builds game services for game creators. Our work centers around making it easy for developers to build, launch and operate their games across multiple platforms using PlayFab services like multiplayer, progression and community.

Responsibilities
- Product Definition & Strategy: Translate customer needs and business goals into clear product requirements, specs, and roadmaps for Xbox services, tools, or platform features.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, design, data science, and partner teams to ensure alignment and execution across the product lifecycle.
- Customer & Partner Engagement: Build empathy for game developers and players, gather feedback, and advocate for solutions that improve developer workflows and player experiences.
- Operational Excellence: Manage dependencies, unblock workstreams, and maintain clarity on priorities, often using tools like Azure DevOps and internal dashboards.
- Technical & Business Insight: Leverage knowledge of cloud technologies, distributed systems, and gaming ecosystems to make trade-offs that balance technical feasibility with business value.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree AND at least 2+ years of experience in engineering, product or technical program management, data analysis, or product development; OR equivalent practical experience.
- At least 1+ year managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- Ability to translate customer requirements and scenarios into features, including writing software specifications and user experiences.
- Experience using data to drive prioritization and measure progress.
- Experience expressing designs visually and collaborating with UX designers.
- Experience using effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
- 2+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
