Customs and Foreign Trade Zone Specialist

Description

The Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Administration Specialist will be overseeing the implementation of the FTZ program and will be supporting the FTZ daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, accurate reporting and smooth coordination with internal and external partners. This role is hands-on, focused on maintaining compliance, managing transactions and assisting with FTZ related projects and activities.

• Oversee the implementation and administration of the FTZ operations, including activation, boundary modifications, and applications.
• Oversee the implementation of FTZ software
• Serve as the primary point of contact for FTZ activities by leading and participating in all FTZ-related meetings, tracking tasks &      following up on checkpoints.
• Manage the day-to-day FTZ program operations, including admissions, withdrawals and inventory manipulations.
• Prepare, verify & submit all weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual FTZ forms and reports.
• Maintain compliance with FTZ regulations under 19CFR146 & CBP guidelines
• Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders & internal stakeholders to ensure timely & accurate FTZ transactions.
• Partner with Inventory Manager to investigate and resolve discrepancies, conduct audits and implement process improvements.
• Monitor & reconcile FTZ inventory records & ensure alignment with ERP & WMS systems
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams regarding FTZ procedures, compliance and best practices.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within FTZ operations and supply chain processes.
• Support the Customs Trade Lead by assisting with harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, CTPAT Management, FTA Management and overall Customs Compliance for Schluter Systems LP.
• This position requires occasional travel
• Partner with Inventory Manager to investigate and resolve discrepancies, conduct audits and implement process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, International Business Administration, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
• 1-3 years of experience in trade compliance, FTZ operations and/or inventory operations.
• Strong attention to details with good organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and knowledgeable or able to learn FTZ, WMS, and ERP systems.
• Compliance-oriented with strong accuracy in reporting and documentation
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Team player with willingness to support and learn
