Assistant Manager – Finance
Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Finance will be responsible for managing the company’s financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control functions while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all financial activities. This role involves preparing monthly management accounts, monitoring production costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, managing statutory audits, and maintaining the fixed asset register. The position also plays a key role in implementing SAP analytics, developing KPI dashboards, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills with a proven track record in finance and accounting within a manufacturing environment.
The main job functions of this position will include:
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Analyze financial performance, variances, and key cost drivers to support informed decision-making.
- Lead the preparation of the annual budget and corporate plan within the given timelines and support to develop good annual report.
- Monitor actual performance against the budget and highlight deviations with corrective action plans.
- Recommend cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements across the business and Support management in implementing cost control mechanisms and productivity enhancements.
- Coordinate and complete statutory audits within agreed timelines while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Maintain an accurate and updated fixed asset register, ensuring proper tagging, depreciation, and disposal records.
- Review and release CAPEX approval forms on a daily basis and ensure timely processing.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement in SAP, and related financial modules.
- Develop and maintain Finance KPI dashboards for performance tracking and strategic decision-making.
- Supervise and guide finance team members to ensure adherence to company policies and deadlines.
The Suitable Candidate Should Possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification in a recognized body such as CA, ACCA, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Previous experience in an audit firm is essential.
- Exposure to manufacturing environments and ERP systems (preferably SAP) will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and a results-driven mindset.
