Summary:

The Full Stack Software Engineer Co-op is responsible for assisting with the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications that support NAI’s business operations. This role offers a longer-term, immersive learning experience, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges while gaining hands-on experience with modern tools and frameworks. Working closely with experienced engineers, the co-op will contribute directly to ongoing projects, helping develop and deliver innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support NAI’s business success.

Requirements

  • Collaborate with software engineers to design, develop, and maintain web applications and APIs.
  • Write, test, and document clean, maintainable code in C# and JavaScript.
  • Assist with database development and maintenance tasks (e.g., SQL queries, schema updates, and data integrity checks).
  • Support troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization of software applications.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team development discussions.
  • Contribute to project documentation, reporting, and technical presentations.
  • Research and recommend new technologies or tools to support process improvements.
  • Gain exposure to the full software development lifecycle within an Agile environment.

Qualifications And Education Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related degree program that includes a co-op component.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows applications.
  • Availability for a full-time co-op term of at least 6 months.

Preferred Skills And Abilities:

  • Coursework, project, or prior internship experience with C#/.NET, SQL, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Exposure to DevOps tools, version control systems (e.g., Git), or database management systems.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information:

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday (Day Shift, 40 hours per week).
  • Duration: Minimum 6-month co-op term.
  • Location: Onsite in Bohemia, NY.
  • Compensation: This is a paid co-op position. Compensation is based on the position and academic year standing.
  • Approximate Start Date: Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 (start date based on candidate availability).
