Role Summary

The Desktop Support Technician provides basic technical assistance and support to internal end users as well as augments the IT support team by performing repetitive tasks and functions, such as imagining hardware, swapping devices, and counting IT hardware inventory.

Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Responsibilities:
  • 1. Monitoring and maintaining computer systems, video conferencing, and networks within the office.
  • 2. Follow SOP documentation and escalate issues appropriately to higher-level staff.
  • 3. Inventory management of new and old devices.
  • 4. General IT housekeeping projects assigned by client manager or lead.
  • 5. Wiping PC hard disks and imaging new devices.
  • 6. Booting PC's and checking OS compatibility.
  • 7. Help with equipment move for E-waste.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications Required

  • Required Skills:
  • 8. Strong service-oriented mentality.
  • 9. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, ability and willingness to learn and cross-train with other IT staff members.
  • 10. Recent hands-on technical experience with Windows 10, G-suite, Exchange, Mac OSX (High Sierra, Sierra), Microsoft Active Directory, system imaging, PC and Apple hardware, and mobile devices.
  • 11. Basic knowledge of corporate data networks.
  • 12. Recent experience with remote access and remote tools for troubleshooting PC issues.
  • Optional Skills:
  • 13. Experience working with Service-Now, JAMF, SCCM, CrashPlan, Zoom, Okta, and/or Ring Central.
