About This Opportunity
We specialise in the manufacture and supply of rigid plastic and metal packaging servicing for the consumer and industrial sectors.
Supporting the Production Manager – LFIP Seven Hills, the Production Engineer safely leads and manages the production team and ensures that the site’s processes are compliant with PACT Group best practice procedures.
The Production Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, and optimising the reconditioning processes of industrial drums and IBCs to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality operations. The role drives continuous improvement, maintains compliance with regulatory and customer standards, and supports the business in meeting production targets, reducing waste, and enhancing overall operational performance.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, monitor, and optimise production processes for the reconditioning of drums and IBCs.
- Analyse production performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements to increase throughput and reduce waste.
- Conduct root-cause investigations for defects, process failures, or non-conformances, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across all production activities.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, quality control reports, certifications, standard operating procedures, and technical reports.
- Train and mentor production operators on safe work practices, quality standards, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and smooth workflow.
- Control of material in and out of facility including completion of appropriate paperwork.
- Ensure routine generated machine checks, quality checks, guard checks, TPM are completed.
- Ensure that all breakdowns and down time are recorded accurately so to drive the Reliability improvements.
- Ensure accurate recording and stock control of finished goods and feedstock/raw materials through SAP or appropriate PACT system.
- Ensure all product specifications are met and adhered to.
- Lead and participate in daily tier communication meetings with planning and manufacturing teams
- Participate in RCCA investigations as required
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Experience in industrial production, process optimisation, and quality assurance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, fluid handling, and industrial testing procedures.
- Effective communication and team leadership abilities.
- Commitment to workplace safety, environmental standards, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or equivalent
