Michigan engineers play a key role in solving society’s greatest challenges. We anticipate the global, technological and educational changes ahead – positioning our institution to lead engineering education and research.
As part of the Provost’s Faculty Expansion Program (FEP), we seek candidates with exceptional potential to expand our capacity for transformative inquiry in high-impact areas of research/scholarship and societal challenge. We seek a scholar whose research and development programs have focused on the development and application of learning technologies to achieve various learning opportunities, teaching practices, policies, and engineering and education systems. We also seek a scholar who has demonstrated the capacity to contribute to the creation and use of scholarship in both learning sciences and engineering, with strong methodological training in quantitative, qualitative, or multiple methods, who are able to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and who seek to influence practice and policy across both engineering and education professions.
This position seeks one tenure-track faculty member (with an emphasis on midcareer/senior candidates) who will hold a home appointment in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) or Robotics (ROB) and as a core Engineering Education Research (EER) faculty. Candidates with expertise in artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and virtual reality, particularly in applying these technologies to education, may be of special interest.
