Our Asset Management and Maintenance – Maintenance Delivery Track office is looking for a Project Analyst to join the team. In this role you will assist in the maintenance contract delivery, regulatory compliance, engineering, and contract compliance of Metrolinx's Maintenance contracts.

You will be involved in various contracts through all stages of planning and execution regarding function, quality, budget, schedule and approvals. Working with the Maintenance Delivery Managers and Contract Compliance Team, this role supports maintenance initiatives, including development of requirements, scope, and objectives, that ensure that stakeholder needs are met, and all aspects are efficiently coordinated to completion.
 

What will I be doing?
  • Compile data and perform both quantitative and qualitative research using standard statistical analysis software or Excel Spreadsheets.
  • Prepare reports, briefing notes, presentations, and/or other supporting documents such as spreadsheets and charts/graphics/maps for Project progress monitoring.
  • Participate in team meetings, provide relevant analytical data, provide information that will be useful to senior staff in their decision-making process.
  • Create, organize and update measurement systems to track the progress of the assigned tasks.
  • Track the regulatory compliance of testing of all track assets and report on outstanding testing and concerns raised based on testing.
  • Undertake studies and analyses to determine the impact of new initiatives
  • Formulate objectives, prepare data collection tools, tabulate and analyze data
  • Collaborate with internal and external contacts as necessary to gather business requirements during the initiation, development, and implementation of assigned projects.
  • Review and analyse documents on behalf of the management team to ensure alignment with project incentives and objectives prior to dissemination.
  • Analyze and track contractor budget.
  • Review of monthly invoices and provide recommendation to Management for approval.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Completion of a degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, Architecture, Management, Business, Policy and Public Administration, Communications, or related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in projects or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Railway Operating Rules, GO Transit Track Standards, Transport Canada requirements and the Railway Safety Act would be considered an asset.
  • A valid Ontario Class “G” drivers’ license would be considered an asset.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office, Excel Spreadsheet, and excellent communication skills to prepare proposals, reports, briefing notes, presentations, and/or other supporting documents.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with strict attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and operate in various independent and team environments.
  • Oral/written/presentation communications skills to prepare proposals, reports, briefing notes, presentations, and/or other supporting documents (e.g. spreadsheets and charts/graphics/maps)
  • MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
