The Cypress of Hilton Head's Preston Health Center Skilled Nursing Department is actively seeking a hospitality-focused Receptionist (PT) to join our team.

Position Summary:  Responsible for answering and transferring all incoming telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner, and giving information, direction, and other appropriate assistance to residents, staff, guests, and vendors.  Prepares room reservation forms for residents, committees, and directors, and follows through with appropriate documentation of reservations and distribution of forms.  Completes typing assignments.  Performs a variety of other clerical duties as assigned.

Join our Team: The Cypress of Hilton Head Island, located in the beautiful Lowcountry of South Carolina, is an award-winning continuing care retirement community. Life at The Cypress comes to life on Hilton Head Island and within the secure-gated waterfront community of Hilton Head Plantation. The Preston Health Center is a five-star, 62-bed health center providing services including rehab, short-term and long-term stays, and memory support.

Essential Functions:

1.    Manage a busy telephone and two-way radio system.
2.    Dispatch to drivers.
3.    Receive and dispense oral and written information in a courteous and professional manner.
4.    Use a computer and/or typewriter to produce business correspondence accurately and efficiently.
5.    Maintain confidentiality of all information learned in the performance of duties.
6.    Sort and distribute departmental mail.
7.    Label resident clothing upon move-in.
8.    Receive Guest Apartment guests when they check in and out and have them complete appropriate forms; distribute Guest Apartment keys.
9.    Understands the responsibility to report suspected violations of the Code of Conduct to appropriate persons, or to the Compliance Hotline, or by completing a Written        Report of Suspected Compliance Violation, or by contacting the Corporate Compliance Officer directly.
 

Educational Requirement:  High School Diploma or equivalent.  A minimum of one year's office experience required.  Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Additional Qualifications:  Ability to communicate efficiently using proper speech and grammar, speaking in a pleasant, well modulated tone.  Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.  Experience working with a computer preferred.  Thorough knowledge and skill in typing and use of office equipment.  Must be self motivated.  Must possess the ability to meet deadlines and function efficiently despite frequent distractions and interruptions, and be able to remain calm in emergency situations.  Ability to be cooperative and courteous despite simultaneous demands.  Must be able to handle multiple tasks.  Ability to follow specific instructions carefully, and general instructions completely.  Must have initiative and ability to react in a positive and spontaneous manner, and evaluate and respond to the needs of residents, staff, visitors, and vendors.  Must be able to work independent of close supervisor or direction.
