Job Summary:

The Energy Efficiency Team Lead is responsible for leading a team to support Georgia Power’s regulated Residential and Commercial Energy Efficiency programs by managing iterative reporting enhancements, leading strategic forward-looking initiatives, overseeing participating contractor compliance, providing oversight of financial management, and collaborating with internal and external teams to drive process improvements and streamline operations. The position requires detailed knowledge of regulated utility customer programs, attention to detail, and the ability to understand and apply technical principles relating to energy efficiency and data management.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage a team and establish an engaging work environment by motivating others to achieve desired goals through creativity and innovation while collaborating with multi-disciplinary organizations to support Georgia Power’s Energy Efficiency programs.
  • Support regulatory and ad hoc reporting initiatives across the energy efficiency portfolio including performance and budget tracking, oversight to quality control and corrections, purchase order management, tracking and reconciling budgets, and monthly forecasts.
  • Lead and facilitate completion of initiatives including but not limited to data request responses, vendor requests for information and proposals, and facilitating team recommendations to internal partners relating to DSM Design and Evaluation.  
  • Work closely with the Georgia Power Energy Efficiency organization and other internal strategic business partners to identify ineffective or inconsistent processes, strategize and implement a solution, and communicate status to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with SCS Design and Evaluation team on system-wide efforts such as Requests for Information, Requests for Proposal and vendor selections to ensure Georgia Power’s DSM EE and DR requirements are achieved through leading as a system initiatives. 
  • Coordinate and lead the monitoring of vendor activities related to contractor quality assurance initiatives, ensuring compliance with the filed energy efficiency program implementation plans. 
  • Support marketing initiatives, as needed, by facilitating collaborative discussions with internal partners.
  • Lead relevant updates to the EE Playbook, a resource and onboarding guide that outlines key activities and timeframes associated with energy efficiency programs.
  • Serve as a back-up to the class Managers for routine project and invoice approvals.

Job Requirements

Preferred Education & Experience 

  • Regulated energy efficiency program design, implementation, or evaluation and large-scale contracting procurement including Requests for Information and Requests for Proposal.
  • Direct customer and contractor interaction, program implementation and management, budgeting, and analytics.
  • 4-year accredited degree with additional consideration given for advanced degrees and/or relevant industry certifications including CDSM, CEM, and BPI.
  • Strong project and/or program management including budgeting, forecasting, and the ability to develop and implement effective workflow processes. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading or influencing across multiple organizations to achieve effective outcomes, regardless of the reporting relationship. 
  • Experience reviewing and editing scopes of work and holding third-party vendors accountable to service level agreements and contract compliance.
