We are looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager whose mission is to develop the product positioning, messaging, and value proposition of Automata products in collaboration with sales, product, and marketing.
Why is this role important for Automata?
Product marketing is a core responsibility that ensures the right positioning, and hence competitiveness, of the products we are selling. This role will also drive sales enablement which will support sales in creating pipeline and closing business.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new lab automation products and features, including market segmentation, launch planning, and integrated campaign execution.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and opportunities in life sciences automation.
- Drive the creation of compelling product positioning and messaging tailored to complex technical audiences (IT leaders, lab directors, scientists, executives).
- Design and optimize content and brand awareness programs to grow credibility and market share within pharma, biotech, and genomics sectors.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (product, engineering, sales, brand/creative) to shape strong narratives, develop marketing collateral, and ensure sales team alignment.
- Enable sales success by developing product guides, competitive battle cards, customer personas, and training materials; lead regular product update sessions for customer-facing teams.
- Monitor, analyze, and report performance of product marketing initiatives, adjusting strategy based on results and market feedback.
- Support partnership efforts, case studies, and customer testimonials that highlight Automata’s impact on lab workflows and automation.
- Act as a product evangelist externally—attend industry events, give presentations, and contribute thought leadership across relevant channels.
What It Takes:
- Expertise: Developing strategic product marketing motions and initiatives that are focused on driving pipeline growth.
- Industry Experience: Requires 5-7 years in product marketing in life sciences automation, robotics, biotech, and/or health tech verticals.
- Market and customer research: Proficiency in developing buyer personas, analyzing market trends, and understanding customer pain points in the life sciences sector.
- Go-to-market strategy: Demonstrated success in launching complex products or features, crafting go-to-market assets, and driving product adoption.
- Technical acumen: Ability to understand and explain technical features and scientific workflows, with background in lab automation, software, or related life sciences domains preferred.
- Data-driven decision making: Fluency in data analytics, SQL or related tools to optimize campaigns and measure product marketing ROI.
- Sales enablement: Experience creating sales toolkits, competitive battle cards, product documentation, and training for customer-facing teams.
- Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written skills to craft compelling narratives and translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Proven success working with cross-functional teams such as product, engineering, sales, and customer success.
- Project management: Ability to juggle multiple projects, manage timelines, and deliver on product launches in fast-paced environments.
- AI and automation tools: Familiarity with CRM and campaign automation tools, and comfort leveraging AI for campaign optimization and content.
Nice To Haves:
- Experience with lab informatics, robotics, automation software, or hands-on lab workflow knowledge.
- Experience in delivering or directing product videos and assets.
