A Governance and Assurance Manger opportunity has arisen to join The Sustainable and Active Travel Unit in Transport Scotland, which forms part of the Bus, Accessibility and Active Travel Team (BAAT) Directorate.
You will report directly to the Sponsorship Team Leader and work closely with the Transport Scotland Finance Business Partner.
Responsibilities- Monitoring unit wide financial management in collaboration with Team Leaders, including but not limited to financial approvals, spend analysis and financial forecast, tracking as necessary.
- Lead on Active Travel Programme Management Board governance, including secretariat administration and ensuring the decision making process is followed.
- Engage across the unit and with directorate equivalents on risk management processes, including responsibility for completing monthly updates, escalation where required, monitoring and oversight of the unit risk register.
- Act as the central co-ordination point for Business Manager, strategy, and policy commissions including briefings, corporate commissions and correspondence.
- Support the Sponsorship Team Leader in Grant Management and Governance matters such as Audit, Subsidy Control and VAT management and ERDF supported programme.
You will require to have experience of working in a finance, governance or project management setting, with a solid understanding of the way in which projects or grants are tracked and managed, and the key principles of finance and risk assurance.

This post is based in Glasgow with hybrid working in line with current Transport Scotland policies. You will be expected to be office based twice per week, pro rata.
