- About the Role:
- The Senior Accountant will be responsible for financial accounting functions in relation to various legal entities.
Job Duties In Brief:
- Prepare month-end closing journal entries, including accruals and prepaid expenses within the month-end close cut-off deadlines.
- Review and book bi-weekly payroll entries and liaise with HR on various payroll-related matters.
- Prepare monthly payroll and headcount reconciliations.
- Generate monthly overtime reports for payroll processing.
- Manage bank accounts and corporate credit card accounts.
- Complete all reconciliations in a timely manner, including bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and corporate credit card accounts.
- Prepare revenue accruals, manage invoices, and oversee receivables.
- Manage intercompany relationships, including the approval of inbound invoices, balance reconciliations, counterparty confirmations, and monthly settlements.
- Review all Oracle Fusion postings on a daily basis.
- Coordinate with the AP team to process invoices in a timely manner while ensuring correct account and department allocations.
- Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare monthly local and divisional variance analyses and financial commentaries.
- Maintain adequate documentation of all transactions for audit purposes.
- Manage the financial administration of multi-company books and records.
- Process monthly fund transfer requests to maintain adequate operating expense funding.
- Support the annual audit process and review annual financial statements (IFRS and US GAAP) for annual report.
- Assist in preparing HST returns.
- Support the preparation of annual corporate tax returns.
- Complete periodic Statistics Canada surveys.
- Update monthly checklist reports.
- Liaise with external consultants on regulatory matters.
- Execute ad hoc projects and requests as directed by Management.
- Communicate effectively with external and internal auditors, and the Group and Division Controllers' team
- Perform additional duties as assigned
About You:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in either Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or in a related discipline.
- Completion, or working towards an Accounting designation (CPA) an advantage.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in Oracle Fusion is an advantage.
- Must have sound knowledge on MS Excel and Word.
- Must have good accounting acumen, attention to detail and self-driven.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
