The Principal Strategic Account Technologist will manage the development and application of a mature/dynamic customer plan based on proven methodologies to manage a sustainable, long-term business portfolio Collaborates across organization and partners in discussions to impact the broader ecosystem (e.g., passing legislation). Leverages close relationships with leaders (e.g., senior leaders, C-level executives) of the assigned account and the broader ecosystem to shape long-term strategic direction and influence business metrics.
Expands strategic customer relationships to drive larger impact for the customer and spread into other areas of the organization. Anticipates issues/risks on customer satisfaction, determines the root cause of problems, removes blockers, and establishes recovery action plan to improve customer's overall experience. Owns the development of strategies that showcase the value added by Microsoft's innovative cloud offerings and ideas grounded on a deep understanding of industry trends and based on account needs and customer's expectations. Leverages internal network of industry experts to strengthen knowledge of the industry, competitors, and customer business priorities and leverages in-depth knowledge of Microsoft's offerings to share knowledge internally, influence customers' business capabilities, drive more competitive solutions, and enhance growth of the account team.

Microsoft is seeking world class technical sales professionals in the Washington DC / Baltimore area to help lead our One-Microsoft Account Teams that support our Intelligence Community agency customers.
Microsoft’s National Security Group, has an immediate opening for Account Technology Strategists (ATS). As the ATS, you will articulate how Microsoft will enable our clients to achieve their business goals and guide the customer to invest and adopt Microsoft’s products and services.
At the highest level, the ATS is responsible for engaging with both Mission and IT decision makers to understand their mission, challenges, architecture and articulate how Microsoft can enable them to achieve their IT and mission goals. ATSs must also understand and influence customer-specific technology requirements, resulting in the adoption of Microsoft solutions in strategic, business, and mission applications in a sell to model.
The ATS works within the Account Team and with Microsoft Engineering in developing strategy and executing the business and sales plans with a team comprised of program management, sales, technical support, and delivery consultants. The ATS should be familiar with government regulations, policies, and architectures associated with the US Intelligence Community.

Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 7+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, or related technical/sales/industry experience OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years experience making recommendations to and/or collaborating with mid-to-senior level executives.
- 6+ years experience closing large, complex agreements/deals.
Other Requirements:
Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
- Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customer and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government Clearance
Strategic Account Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,000 - $222,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $170,300 - $239,800 per year.
