Position Summary:
The Director of System Radiation Oncology is responsible for strategic leadership, operational oversight and program development across multiple radiation oncology sites within the Guthrie Oncology Service Line. This role ensures delivery of high- quality patient-centered care, drives growth initiatives and fosters integration with multidisciplinary oncology services. The Director leads a team of clinical and administrative staff, partners with physician leadership, and collaborates with the Sr. Director to optimize clinical performance, financial outcomes, and patient satisfaction. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently in a rural community setting.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 -7 years of experience working in a leadership position in radiation oncology, oncology service or a complex healthcare environment. Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, revenue management, and operation efficiency. Knowledge of radiation oncology technologies and regulatory requirements. Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
Education:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, masters preferred.

Essential Functions:
- Provide leadership for all operational aspects for all Guthrie radiation oncology locations, including staffing, budgeting, regulatory compliance, quality improvement and strategic planning.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow patient volumes, expand service offerings, and enhance patient access across all radiation oncology sites.
- Partner closely with the Chief of Radiation Oncology, Radiation Oncologists, Physicists, Dosimetrists and Radiation Therapists to ensure alignment of clinical practices with evidence-based standards.
- Monitor and drive key performance indicators, meeting the departmental goals including clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, financial performance, productivity and access goals.
- Partner with the Sr. Director to help lead the planning and execution of capital projects, including new technology adoption.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvements in accordance to our accrediting body The American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO), maintain accreditation status.
- Partner with the Sr. Director with forecasting procedure volumes, expenses, FTE’s and patients seen volumes.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations including the Department of Health and the Department of Environmental Health.
- Build strong relationships with referring providers to promote service integration and referral growth.
- Ensure competencies and annual performance evaluations are completed yearly for all staff.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm when relating to customers and demonstrates effective conflict management with respect to all customers.
- Participates in interviews for providers and assists with the integration to the team
- Recognizes and identifies actual or potential situations which may place the health care system at risk for corporate compliance. Communicates appropriately to the administrator and/or follows defined policy for addressing the situation.
- Maintains open lines of communication by being responsive to staff and customers.
- Demonstrates effective service recovery with respect to outpatients.
