The System Chargemaster Consultant is responsible for supporting the maintenance of systems, processes, and workflows for the timely and accurate recording of revenue related to the chargemaster (CDM), charge integrity, and charge capture for the INTEGRIS system. The Revenue Integrity department interprets government regulations and affects related process changes throughout the system to ensure staff is compliant with these regulations and follow applicable State and Federal laws, regulations and organizational policies. The System Chargemaster Consultant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Assists in upholding INTEGRIS administrative and fiscal excellence within the Revenue Integrity Department by providing expertise to educate appropriate staff on charging and coding standards, ensuring data management and the accuracy of charging practices. 
  • Works to resolve charge related issues assigned to the Revenue Integrity department. 
  • Assists in the evaluation, research and analysis of charging, revenue, and billing to ensure compliance with all payer requirements and determine patterns of charging that will avoid compliance risks and/or increase the propensity for payment of charged services. 
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and audit functions related to the CDM. 
  • Provides leadership and direction for departments on pricing strategies in accordance with state and federal regulatory guidelines, CMS and Medicare Administrative Contractor rules and regulations, Medicaid specific rules and regulations, and Managed Care contract terms. 
  • Provides communication and education to appropriate departments regarding annual and quarterly CPT/HCPCS changes and additions. 
  • Reviews charges and clinical data as directed from targeted points of care to compare services charged verses services recorded. 
  • Collaborates in a monthly and quarterly review of specialty specific charges to ensure accuracy of information is maintained; reviews and interprets utilization and billing data noting trends and providing recommendations as needed. 
  • Works with physicians and departments to optimize reimbursement, ensure charge capture and provide feedback on revenue opportunities, documentation, and payor standards. Reports to the System Manager Revenue Integrity

Normal office environment. Travels to INTEGRIS facilities throughout the state. 

Some overnight travel required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience; Associate degree and 4 years of related experience; or 6 years of related experience. 
  • Previous work experience with software used in a financial, clinical or enterprise systems setting. 
  • Previous work experience with financial, clinical or web-based systems computing preferred. 
  • Previous experience using verbal and written communication to a variety of audiences through a range of modalities. 
  • Prefer expertise, licensure, or certification as required by role (for example: CCS, COC, Epic, RHIA, RHIT, RN, etc.) 
  • This job requires incumbents to operate an INTEGRIS-owned vehicle OR personal vehicle (non-INTEGRIS-owned) and therefore must have a current Driver's License from the state of residence as well as a driving record which is acceptable to our insurance carrier.
