Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 20 years of experience leading software engineers across geographies with a focus on networking platforms, load balancing, routing, scalability, reliability, and high availability.
- 10 years of experience with private and public cloud design considerations and limitations in the areas of virtualization, global infrastructure, distributed ML and HPC systems, load balancing, networking, data storage, and security.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Customer-facing products experience and a foundation in design, data structures and algorithms, with excellent problem solving and debugging skills.
- Experience successfully building software and large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience delivering successfully within time sensitive timelines.

As Director, Cloud Networking, Hybrid Connectivity, you will provide strategic direction, technical oversight, and operational management for a unique portfolio of critical products and infrastructure within the cloud networking team. As a leader of multiple engineering centers of excellence, you will be instrumental in fostering an engineering culture with successful delivery of networking products. These include systems and services that drive edge and hybrid networking, enabling the next generation of AI workloads spanning GCP and partner ecosystems. Networking represents 60% of the customer-facing APIs in Google Cloud, processing high rates of change across zonal, regional, and global scopes with extremely high reliability goals.In this role, you will utilize an understanding of networking platforms and leading executive managers, while being fully accountable for the strategic evolution of the platform, the organizational evolution of the team including hiring and performance management, and the cost and efficiency of the services comprising this platform.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $294,000-$414,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Be responsible for developing networking infrastructure and networking products to enable Google Cloud Networking including direct business generation and indirectly all of Google Cloud’s business.
- Work with executive leadership, product and system managers, Technical Leads across the Cloud Networking team, and Site Reliability Engineering leaders owning these products and services.
- Understand and learn the various infrastructure systems, the scope, and impact of these systems, and the underlying technology.
- Understand and evaluate the scalability and reliability to ensure the technical leads are always a step ahead of customer demands.
