Wood Orthodontics – Anthem, AZ

Are you ready to be part of something special?

At Wood Orthodontics, we don’t just straighten smiles — we change lives. Our Anthem office is all about bringing confidence, comfort, and joy to every patient who walks through our doors. We’re a fast-paced team, driven by excellence, compassion, and the belief that people come first.

About Us

  • Location & Community: Nestled in beautiful Anthem, Arizona, we serve a friendly, tight-knit neighborhood with families of all ages. We believe in giving back, making our office feel more like family than a business.
  • Philosophy & Culture: Our priority is an exceptional patient experience — every visit should feel warm, efficient, and personalized. We maintain high professional standards, stay current with the latest orthodontic techniques and technologies, and foster growth, learning, and teamwork.
  • Pace & Energy: Our office is fast-paced. From initial consultations to follow-ups, we keep things moving. But fast doesn't mean rushed — we balance speed with precision, taking care to ensure each patient feels heard, comfortable, and well taken care of.

Your Role & What We’Ll Love About You

As our Orthodontic Assistant, you’ll be an essential part of our daily rhythm. You’ll help make every appointment seamless, every patient relaxed, and every treatment plan executed with excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for orthodontic treatment: taking digital impressions, scanning, exposing x-rays, fitting separators, etc.
  • Assist the orthodontist during clinical procedures — braces placement, archwire changes, adjustments, bonding, etc.
  • Provide chairside assistance: suction, instrument prep, patient comfort, frequently checking in to ease concerns.
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments, dental units, and operatory rooms to the highest cleanliness and infection-control standards.
  • Manage supplies: keeping treatment rooms stocked, ordering what’s needed, making sure everything is ready before patients arrive.
  • Educate patients and parents: oral hygiene care, dietary guidance, what to expect with adjustments, how to care for braces/aligners.
  • Documentation: charting, recording treatment progress, tracking appointments, and helping with scheduling.
  • Maintain a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor: greet patients with a smile, help calm nerves, and contribute to creating a warm experience.

What We Offer

  • A supportive, upbeat team environment where your skills are valued and your growth is encouraged.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and learning new orthodontic technologies.
  • State-of-the-art equipment and a well-organized workspace so you can do your best work.
  • Competitive compensation based on experience.
  • Flexible scheduling and time-off policies (we know life happens!).
  • Employee benefits

Requirements

You’Ll Shine If You…

  • Have orthodontic assisting experience (2+ years preferred, but we welcome enthusiastic learners).
  • Are certified or otherwise qualified (Radiography/X-ray, CPR, etc.) as required by state law.
  • Work well in high-energy, fast-paced settings and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and don’t mind handling multiple tasks at once.
  • Are compassionate and patient: able to put patients — especially younger ones — at ease.
  • Communicate clearly with both the clinical team and with patients/parents.
  • Are a team player: you enjoy collaboration, helping others, and making the whole office better.
  • Thrive when things are busy, but also understand the importance of doing it right, not just fast.
