Vice President Engineering – Digital Health Experience 

  • Location: Hybrid – U.S. (Preferred near Myriad offices- South SF, SLC, or Mason OH) 
  • Reports to: Chief Technology Officer 

Role Overview

The Vice President Engineering - Digital Health Experience will lead the vision and execution of Myriad Genetics’ next-generation digital ecosystem that engages with our patient and providers. This executive will be responsible for delivering innovative, secure, and scalable digital products — including clinician and patient portals, EMR/EHR integrations, and core platform modernization — that makes it easier to order, manage, and act on Myriad’s innovative genetic insights. The ultimate goal is to empower patients and providers and increase adoption of our suite of products in precision oncology, prenatal care, and mental health.  

Reporting to the CTO, the VP will drive both execution excellence and long-term application roadmap and platform capabilities working in close collaboration with our product management team and commercial stakeholders. This leader will combine deep technical expertise with strong business acumen to align technology initiatives with enterprise objectives, ensuring that digital health solutions become a key differentiator and competitive strength for Myriad. 

Key Responsibilities

Digital Health Platform Leadership 

  • Own the strategy and delivery of patient and provider portals, EMR/EHR integrations (Epic, Flatiron, Athena, etc.), solutions to facilitate identification of eligible patients, and tools for price transparency and payment options 
  • Lead modernization of legacy systems and transition to scalable cloud-based architectures, ensuring security, integrity, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Drive adoption of interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, REST, GraphQL) to streamline data exchange across the healthcare ecosystem. 

Technology Strategy & Innovation 

  • Key member of CTO staff to define and deliver Myriad’s technology roadmap, ensuring alignment of digital initiatives with enterprise business objectives. 
  • Consolidate and modernize digital order portals and platform services to reduce complexity and improve speed to market. 
  • Champion data-driven decision-making, establishing analytics frameworks to measure ROI, utilization, user feedback, and clinical impact of digital products. 
  • Incorporate advancements in AI for automated interactions and while preserving the sensitivity and criticality of the communication 

Cross-Functional & Change Leadership 

  • Facilitate alignment across technology colleagues and business units to deliver seamless execution of enterprise priorities. 
  • Serve as a change agent, communicating progress, inspiring teams, and creating a culture of curiosity, camaraderie, and continuous improvement. 
  • Collaborate with product, security, enterprise architecture, and operations teams to ensure new solutions meet payer, provider, and patient requirements. 
  • Manage key strategic relationships with major EMR partners to set industry standards and co-develop advancements in digital health 

Team Leadership & Development 

  • Lead and mentor a global software engineering team; attract and retain top internal digital health talent; harness nearshore and offshore resources 
  • Foster a high-performance culture with clear accountability, growth opportunities, and diversity of thought. 
  • Set and manage multimillion-dollar budgets and vendor partnerships to ensure optimal resource utilization. 

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including leading large-scale full-stack software engineering and consumer application development teams 
  • Proven success in delighting customers and fueling commercial success with digital health solutions  
  • Experience building compliant systems in a regulated environment (healthcare a plus). 
  • Mastery of agile and product management methodologies 
  • Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, APIs) and payer/provider digital workflows. 
  • Strong solution engineering to ensure digital tools fit within context of clinical workflows 
  • Proven success in delighting customers and fueling commercial success with digital health solutions  
  • Experience building compliant systems in a regulated environment (healthcare a plus). 
  • Mastery of agile and product management methodologies 
  • Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, APIs) and payer/provider digital workflows.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and align senior leadership, communicate complex technical concepts simply, and energize commercial go-to-market 
  • Breadth of experience with modern cloud infrastructure, web application, and front-end frameworks (we use a combination of AWS, Kubernetes, Django, React, and Typescript) 
  • Adept at integrating and leveraging enterprise architectures (iPaaS, MDM, DXP) 
  • Experience with internally built design systems leveraging modern experience tools like Figma and AWS Amplify

We take geographic location into account when determining base salary to ensure equitable and competitive compensation.
