  • Job Title: Certified Professional Coder
  • Location: Remote (Must reside in TX, TN, NC, SC, CO, NJ, OK, or AL)
  • Job Type: PT/PRN

We are seeking a highly motivated Certified Professional Coder to join our team. The Certified Professional Coder will be responsible for appropriately coding claims to ensure accurate and compliant billing for office and hospital procedures. The Certified Professional Coder reviews patient charts, ensures accuracy of billing codes, and reports missing or incomplete documentation to the provider organization in a timely manner. The position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, dependability, and a desire for continuous knowledge and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Claim Coding and Audits: Perform daily coding tasks, review medical charts for accuracy, audit coded claims, and ensure compliance with ASA/AMA guidelines and payer updates.
  • Documentation Review: Identify and report missing or incomplete documentation to provider organizations promptly.
  • Compliance and Updates: Adhere to federal, state, and HIPAA regulations, and stay updated through coding workshops and training.
  • Production and Quality: Meet daily coding production and quality standards as set by the supervisor.
  • Support and Collaboration: Act as a point of contact for coding questions, issues, and projects while ensuring active billing codes.. 

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have valid CPC certification by AAPC
  • One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in healthcare coding is required. One (1) year of Anesthesia coding experience is preferred.
