About This Role
The Heat Transfer Group that is within Carrier’s Mechanical Center of Excellence (MCOE) organization is seeking a motivated, results-oriented college student to join our team for the Summer of 2026. The Carrier internship experience offers interns an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience, and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths in efforts to assist Carrier in achieving its business strategy. You will learn and apply skills in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics, including both single-phase and two-phase flows. You will grow professionally to become knowledgeable on heat transfer and system requirements for HVAC&R equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support laboratory test rigs to characterize performance of enhanced heat transfer surfaces and components.
- Apply engineering software such as MATLAB and EES to perform data reduction and heat transfer analysis.
- Develop heat transfer and pressure drop correlations that accurately describe performance of heat transfer surfaces over a wide range of single-phase, condensing, and evaporating conditions.
- Apply advanced simulation tools to assess system level impacts of new heat transfer components.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree program in any Engineering field.
- GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0 GPA
- Must be eligible to work in the US without Sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Thermodynamics, Fluids and Heat Transfer coursework or previous internships preferred
