Description
This is a full-time, direct placement role at Premier Security Services.
Summary:
Performs and coordinates the maintenance and installation of building and/or home fire alarm systems, electronic premises security systems, and the alarm monitoring station for the customer. Leads, trains and coordinates the day-to-day work of technical staff and/or subcontractors. Interfaces with customers to ensure the highest grade of customer satisfaction. Performs associated administrative duties.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Consults with customers regarding their system needs
- Coordinates, trains, leads and oversees activities of security and alarm tech crews
- Installs and maintains fire, security, alarm and special systems
- Programs and maintains equipment and systems including fire alarms, intrusion detection, video surveillance, asset protection, environmental detection, holdup/duress, integrated equipment and systems related to the alarm monitoring station
- Upon completion of each job, maintain records of work performed with detailed note-taking
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Light physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects, including ladders, up to 25 pounds, as well as some standing or walking
- Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required:
- Ability to install and perform routine maintenance and repairs of fire alarms, electronic premises security systems and alarm monitoring station operating software and equipment
- Ability to write reports containing technical information
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade
- Ability to program alarm system panels
- Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures
- Ability and willingness to learn and be trained on less-knowledgeable or new systems
