The Logistics Planning and Import Lead will oversee transportation partner relationships, optimize supply chain operations, and ensure timely delivery of products to meet customer needs. This role requires expertise in logistics management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in transportation processes.

This role will report to the National Transportation Manager.

Role Specifics:

Transportation Partner Management:

  • Recruits, onboards, and supervises transportation partners to ensure they meet organizational needs and deliver best-in-class customer service.
  • Utilizes market knowledge and system tools to secure optimal transportation value.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for inbound supplier transportation issue resolution.

Strategic Planning & Operations:

  • Develops and implements trailer pool management programs to ensure adequate equipment availability and timely container/trailer turnaround.
  • Coordinates delivery schedules for all inbound and outbound ocean container movements
  • Creates alternative storage strategies for peak season volumes, including transloading, off-site storage, and trailer rental solutions.
  • Leads transportation support for network changes, RDC openings, TLC closings, and material/equipment transfers.

Performance Management & Reporting:

  • Ensures all business and customer requirements for loads are met, optimizing equipment and managing timelines to exceed 90% on-time delivery.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for transportation reporting, including weekly load reports, on-time delivery metrics, and accessorial cost analysis.
  • Develops transportation standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Accesses required system applications and tools to perform duties accurately and timely.

Collaboration & Support:

  • Works closely with Supplier, Supply Planning, and RDC teams to provide guidance, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Conducts meetings and communicate constraints effectively across departments
  • Identifies, leads, or participates in project work as required

Training & Compliance:

  • Ensures individual personal adherence to TireHub policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Participates and maintains ongoing training requirements through in-person, virtual or computer-based learning modules as assigned.
  • Completes other tasks assigned by their supervisor or another member of Leadership, as requested.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of transportation experience.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • A valid driver’s license with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience is required; three (3) years preferred. Time with a learner’s permit does not count toward this requirement.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a fast-paced and dynamic operating environment.
  • Majority of time is spent sitting, constantly viewing monitors in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move around. There may be occasions to move or lift light articles.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours during routinely critical times to support the department.
  • This role is based in our headquarters office in Dunwoody, GA and requires a strong in-person presence.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10%.
