This Leader, Warehouse IT Infrastructure position is responsible for owning the technology foundation for our network of 80+ warehouses nationwide. This role will lead delivery of IT Infrastructure for new locations and existing site technology refreshes, manage both partner Project Managers and a growing internal team, as well as ensure every site runs fast and reliable. Working closely with IT managed services providers, you'll ensure optimal uptime and performance for warehouse operations and personnel. This role operates at the intersection of IT, Operation Technology (OT), and Operations—delivering ahead of plan and under budget while strengthening our 'Say Yes' culture.

This role reports to the Senior Leader, IT Infrastructure.

Role Specifics:

Warehouse Infrastructure Delivery

  • Leads IT infrastructure support for 80+ distribution centers and warehouses nationally.
  • Owns end-to-end delivery: Manages statements of work with low-voltage vendors and network configuration partners; manages allocated project budgets and approve change orders.
  • Manages project managers and vendors for installation, LAN/WLAN design oversight, network configuration, device staging, technical acceptance, UAT, and go-live.
  • Delivers outcomes ahead of schedule and under budget.

Device Management

  • Oversees day-to-day operations for a device fleet (~2,500 units including Zebra scanners, mobile/vehicle computers, and printers) and transitional Apple devices.
  • Manages partners providing device management connectivity, and remote configuration support.
  • Drives continuous process improvement to ensure seamless updates and upgrades while reducing costs and enhancing user experience.
  • Maintains accurate device inventory by location with weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting.

Warehouse Operations Support

  • Provides oversight of warehouse support services (6,000+ annual support tickets) define and adjust SLAs based on business needs, drive down MTTR, and industrialize problem management (Jira + ServiceNow).
  • Leads device-centric business continuity planning to protect pick/pack/ship throughput during outages.

Leadership And Communication

  • Provides crisp reporting cadence: daily ops status, weekly summaries, monthly tactical reports, and quarterly strategic reviews (Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, Confluence, Jira/ServiceNow).
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Communications, Real Estate, Human Resources, and Enterprise Architecture, partner with Cybersecurity.
  • Fosters an environment of collaboration and career growth; create business cases for team structure improvements and acquisition of new talent and tools.
  • Mentors, coaches, and develops warehouse IT technical talent while fostering teamwork.

Financial Stewardship & Technology Roadmap

  • Controls $3–4M annual OPEX and up to $5M CAPEX.
  • Drives adoption of IT Infrastructure automation across warehouses and delivery vehicles, partnering with Ops, Finance, and Legal, to increase ROI on technology investments.
  • Leads vendor relationships and RFPs, holding partners accountable for value, performance, and delivery.

Competencies:

  • Staff Management: Proven ability to recruit, mentor, and lead geographically dispersed IT teams of at least 5 members, both local and remote, fostering collaboration, achieving performance objectives, and driving team growth through strategic workforce planning and effective leadership.
  • Network Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with computer networks, wired and wireless, network administration, and network infrastructure installation.
  • Security: Proven hands-on knowledge of cybersecurity practices and the ability to implement security measures to protect warehouse IT infrastructure.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage IT projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Proven experience on providing savings in the last 2 years or at least 1 million dollars with project deployment and efficiencies.
  • Technical Leadership: Proven experience in leading technical teams, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with team members, stakeholders, and external partners effectively. Proven expertise in providing constant operational and project updates to team and leadership.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure leadership within warehouse or logistics environments, with a proven ability to align technology initiatives with operational priorities.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams in highly collaborative, fast-paced operational settings.
  • Equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Advanced experience in designing and implementing low-voltage data network installations, wireless LAN (WLAN), rugged mobility solutions, mobile device management (MDM/EMM), device lifecycle management, and large-scale IT project planning.
  • Proven ability to manage device inventories with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring accountability, compliance, and tight operational control over IT assets.
  • Software Systems Proficiency –as StayLinked and SOTI, as well as collaboration and workflow tools including Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong working knowledge of Cisco Meraki networks, including practical expertise in administering and optimizing environments through the Cisco Meraki Dashboard.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft tools, including Excel (advanced data analysis and reporting), Visio (network and workflow diagramming), Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to prepare professional documentation and executive-level presentations.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • A valid Driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience required (3 years preferred; Does not include time on learner’s permits).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification – demonstrating advanced knowledge of project planning, execution, and stakeholder management.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification – proven ability to apply process improvement methodologies to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification – strong understanding of IT service management best practices.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – foundational knowledge in networking, routing, and switching.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Certifications – demonstrated ability to work with leading cloud platforms.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) – advanced understanding of end-to-end supply chain management.
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) – expertise in production planning, scheduling, and inventory control.
  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) – ability to transform complex data into actionable insights.
  • ISA-95 / IEC 62264 Standards Knowledge – applied understanding of manufacturing operations management integration and enterprise/production system alignment.

Work Environment

  • This is a fast-paced and dynamic operating environment.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting, constantly viewing monitors in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move around. There may be occasions to move or lift light articles.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours during routinely critical times to support the department.
  • This role is based in our Duluth, GA warehouse and requires a strong in-person presence, with occasional travel to our headquarters office in Dunwoody, GA.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%.
