How You’ll Work
Location: Onsite (200 Republic St, Birmingham, AL 35214)
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Compensation: $48,500-$63,200 per year. A final offer amount is dependent on factors including prior relevant experience, knowledge, and location.

As a Fleet Manager, you’ll support CRST’s independent contractors by managing day-to-day operations, monitoring load activity, and ensuring compliance with safety and contractual standards. You’ll be the bridge between drivers, planning, and customers—balancing service performance, profitability, and contractor satisfaction every day.

What You’Ll Do

  • Partner with independent contractors to assign loads, resolve issues, and ensure commitments are met
  • Monitor freight movement, track timelines, and communicate updates to customers and internal teams
  • Enforce adherence to company policies, DOT regulations, and contract requirements
  • Track settlements, billing, and chargeable events to ensure financial accuracy and protect profitability
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships to improve engagement, safety, and retention
  • Address service, safety, or performance concerns quickly to minimize disruptions
  • Work with Planning, Safety, and Maintenance to ensure seamless service execution and contractor compliance

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, or contractor management
  • Understanding of DOT regulations and independent contractor relationships
  • Strong communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to influence without authority and foster cooperation

Preferred

  • A four-year degree or applicable work experience with demonstrated success
  • Experience managing independent contractors or agent-based fleets
  • Proficiency with transportation management or contractor tracking systems
  • Proven success partnering with cross-functional teams
