Management Accountant
About the Role
Navantia UK is looking for a proactive Management Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in producing accurate, insightful financial information that supports informed decision-making across the business.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively with project teams, contributing to financial strategy, and ensuring robust financial control in a dynamic environment.
What You’Ll Do
- Prepare monthly financial information, including project reporting, revenue recognition, trial balance, profit and loss, balance sheet, and variance analysis.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure accurate reporting of project costs and performance against budget for revenue, costs, and cash flow.
- Produce project dashboards and management reports for inclusion in internal board packs.
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to the Financial Controller and senior management to support business decisions.
- Assist in maintaining financial controls, procedures, and disciplines across all business activities.
- Prepare monthly management accounts (revenue, balance sheet, and cash flow) and report performance against budget.
- Identify and report project risks that may affect milestones and support corrective actions with project teams.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, statutory accounts, and external audits.
- Contribute to the financial appraisal of commercial projects and new business opportunities.
- Manage project setup in SAP, ensuring accurate allocation of cost baselines, margins, revenue, and cash plans.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support business initiatives.
- Professional qualification: ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent).
- 2+ years’ post-qualification experience — ideally within engineering, construction, or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of accounting processes and financial controls.
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems across ledgers and project accounting.
- Skilled in data analytics tools and confident using Excel and PowerPoint.
- A proactive, detail-focused approach with the ability to communicate financial insights clearly and effectively.
