About You:
As a fast-growing fintech, we stay true to our startup roots. You picture yourself within a vibrant and entrepreneurial organization where your ideas will be heard, and you have an opportunity to showcase your talent. You are motivated by goals, a self-starter and like to wear multiple hats.
You are a sharp, curious, and motivated analytical professional ready to make an impact. You thrive in an environment where your ideas are heard, your technical chops are challenged, and your solutions directly drive business outcomes. As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence, you’ll be part of a centralized BI team that supports all departments — including Operations, Marketing, Compliance, Finance, and Risk. You’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs, design efficient and reliable data pipelines, and deliver dashboards and insights that power smarter decisions. This is not your typical reporting role — you’ll be helping shape how Propel leverages modern data stack tools like Snowflake, dbt Cloud, and Domo to build scalable, intelligent solutions — including next-generation Snowflake AI-driven analytics.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance our BI ecosystem to ensure data accuracy, clarity, and accessibility
- Develop efficient, reusable data models and transformations in dbt Cloud, powering data pipelines in Snowflake
- Play a key role in shaping Propel’s data architecture, data governance, and business terminology frameworks
- Lead efforts to define, document, and centralize key business metrics within a unified data dictionary
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Operations, Marketing, Finance, Risk, Compliance) to understand business objectives and translate them into scalable data solutions
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports in Domo that clearly answer key business questions and drive decision-making
- Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities through creative analysis and critical thinking
- Troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries and pipelines for efficiency and reliability
- Collaborate with the BI team to ensure consistent metric definitions and reporting across the organization
- Contribute to the development of AI-powered analytics and data enrichment initiatives within Snowflake
- Ensure data governance, quality, and documentation are consistently maintained across datasets
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Business, Math, Statistics, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on analytical experience in a professional or business setting, ideally within fintech or a fast-paced data-driven organization
- Advanced SQL skills with proven experience querying and transforming large datasets using Snowflake or similar data warehouses
- Experience with data transformation and modeling (e.g., dbt)
- Strong data visualization and storytelling skills using tools like Domo, Tableau, or Power BI
- Proficiency with Python or R for deeper data analysis is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Strong communication skills — able to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines
