Product Manager, AI & Internal Platforms (Contract)

Contract
60 Decibels is a tech-powered impact measurement company that makes it easy to listen to the people who matter most. We've been in business as an independent entity since early 2019, when we spun out of the global Impact Investor Acumen.
We believe that the best way to understand social impact is by talking to the people experiencing that impact. It sounds obvious when you say it, but that is not the typical practice for many impact investors, corporations and foundations working to create social change.
We collect social impact data directly from beneficiaries (customers / employees / suppliers) using our network of 1000+ trained research assistants in 75+ countries. We do it quickly and without the fuss typically associated with measuring social impact. Our research assistants speak directly to customers to understand their lived experience; and our team turns all this data into benchmarked social performance reports, with accompanying insights, to help our clients demonstrate and improve social performance.
By making impact measurement simple, scalable, and comparable, we not only enable organizations to improve their products and services; we also help transform what it means to credibly measure impact, ensuring that the voices of those who matter most are always part of the story.
About The Role
We’re looking for a forward-thinking and technically fluent Product Manager, AI & Internal Platforms, to help build the internal tools our research, data, and analysis teams rely on every day. You’ll partner closely with engineering, research ops, and data teams to identify opportunities, shape roadmaps, and ship tools that improve how we work - with speed, quality, and impact.
This is a role that straddles both strategy and execution - ideal for someone who can zoom out to connect systems and user needs, then zoom in to guide implementation across multiple phases of development.
This is a 6-month contract role based in Lisbon, Portugal and reports to our Head of Product.
What You’Ll Do
Platform Ownership
- Survey Design & Scripting Platform: Lead roadmap and delivery of tools for scripting, approvals, and content workflows. Oversee content libraries, tagging, and centralized search features.
- Analysis Platform: Guide the transition from external tools to our in-house platform. Prioritize and deliver key features like data exports, core calculations, and integrations.
- Data Quality System: Define and launch an AI-assisted QA system. Design flows for data editing and validation within the pipeline.
- Deck Automation & Data Pipeline: Lead development of a closed-loop pipeline that connects analysis tools to decks. Define requirements for automating chart population and reporting, with security and traceability in mind.
Product Strategy & Execution
- Define and maintain product roadmaps, milestones, and delivery timelines across platforms.
- Translate user and business needs into clear technical requirements and functional specs.
- Conduct user research and validate assumptions and concepts quickly through prototyping and testing.
- Design and iterate on user experiences using AI-assisted design and development tools.
- Scale POCs to production by defining technical requirements and working with our Engineering team to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Establish feedback loops, QA processes, and iterative improvements post-launch.
Enablement & Adoption
- Develop clear documentation and training to drive internal adoption.
- Support change management by collaborating with team leads and champions across functions.
- Create a consistent experience for internal users that improves productivity and data quality.
About You
- You’re a systems thinker who loves solving operational puzzles.
- You balance scrappy experimentation with structured delivery - knowing when to prototype, and when to scale.
- You care deeply about improving how people work, and have a track record of delivering tools that make that happen.
- You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, getting into the details, and influencing without formal authority.
You’Ll Have
- At least 3 - 4 years of product management experience, ideally with internal platforms or data-driven tools
- Proven experience translating AI-powered prototypes into scalable tools or systems
- Strong understanding of data workflows, pipelines, and platform integrations
- Ability to translate complex business needs into actionable product specifications
- Track record of shipping multi-phase tools that measurably improve team productivity or data quality
- Code literacy: Comfortable reading code, reviewing technical designs, and scoping work with engineers (no need to write production code)
- AI tool fluency: Experience using AI tools (e.g., assistants, prototyping platforms, co-pilots) to accelerate workflows
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - able to influence without authority
Nice To Have
- Experience working in research, market insights, or analytics-focused companies
- Familiarity with tools like Airtable, Notion, Python, QuestionPro, or survey scripting tools
- Exposure to working in globally distributed teams or multicultural environments
